this single Malt Whiskey finishes its 21 years of maturation in Madeira Drums - the very first Bushmills Malt whiskey to be "finished" this way.
This truly rare whiskey is to be released each year in limited numbers only.
The whiskey is carefully distilled three times with malted barley free from smoke allowing the pure malt taste to shine through. First matured in American Bourbon barrels and Spanish Oloroso sherry butts for most of its 21 years. The whiskey is then married and vatted before it finishes its maturation in Madeira Drums.
It is this finishing that produces a whiskey with a stunning complexity on the palate.

Tasting Notes
Nose A deep and complex aroma of honeyed maltiness, wood, raisins, dark chocolate and a hint of mint.
Taste At first a mellow maltiness, wood and raisins again, a touch of toffee sweetness, and then spice, vanilla, dark chocolate, again a hint of mint so wonderfully complex.
Finish A slightly dry maltiness, with wood and raisins lingering as a pleasant aftertaste
